A feature and fiction writer for various national magazines, I was also a regular columnist for Mother & Baby. My first business was home-based, establishing and supplying a team selling children’s party goods. As the business grew I opened a shop then - sucker for punishment – another, adding books and toys to the mix. During this time I also trained, qualified and taught antenatal classes, my shops were probably the only ones where anybody queuing was told to breathe in short pants, and not push.
When I sold the shops, I took myself into the travel market and into an unfilled niche - putting together tailor-made, off-the-beaten-track trips to New England. Building on the popularity of the service, I launched an annual full-colour accommodation guide, spoke at hospitality conferences, all over the States, and sat on an Innkeepers Association board for a few years.
When I sold U.S. Welcome to a FTSE 100 company, I set up a copywriting consultancy to demonstrate to businesses that often only the smallest of tweaks are needed to make a mountain of a difference.
When not writing for businesses I work on fiction, features and editorials, have blogged for The Telegraph Online, written four Business Books, and four Paranormal Novels.
